Sand and Light Bath – Egypt

Heat and light have always been used in different forms to heal various ailments. Even the ancient Egyptians knew the healing effect of hot sand baths for pain in the muscular system and the spinal column. The pleasant temperature of the sand stimulates the metabolism, while at the same time, the healing sand detoxifies the skin and even helps to prevent winter depression or seasonal affective disorder, as it has a positive effect on your mood.

Zinc-alkaline Bath – Egypt

On his campaigns and scientific expeditions in India, Alexander the Great discovered the pink salt known nowadays as Himalayan salt. Moreover, the Dead Sea and the Red Sea also served as “salt suppliers” in Alexander's empire. Cleopatra also took advantage of the beauty and health benefits of this salt. Zinc has a positive effect on physiological functions, helps to reduce fatigue and hyperacidity, detoxifies, encourages blood circulation, strengthens the immune system and promotes beautiful skin, hair and fingernails.

Kneipp Cold Water Pools

Cold water treatments and hydrotherapy are not a modern invention, even though they did fall into obscurity for a long time and until they were rediscovered by the naturopath Vinzenz Prießnitz and Father Sebastian Kneipp. In fact, cold water therapies were used in naturopathy by Hippocrates as early as 460 to 370 BCE. Temperature stimuli are transmitted through the skin, and trigger positive reactions in the body. This strengthens the immune system and stimulates circulation, the nervous system and the metabolism.

Calcium-Lithium Bath – Greece

“The physician treats, but nature heals” – Hippocrates taught and worked according to this motto as early as 400 BCE in ancient Greece. The doctor, who was born and worked on the island of Kos, discovered that the water he used to heal worked particularly well on skin disorders, rheumatic complaints and wound healing. The reason for this was, among other things, the calcium and magnesium-rich mineral augite, which is found in the water around Kos. It also helps with fatigue and muscle cramps, slows down skin ageing and strengthens the musculoskeletal system.
