Siebenquell® Chapel

Our small chapel can be found at the very heart of Siebenquell® GesundZeitResort, between the day guest and hotel areas. As a place for peace and tranquillity, to receive the healing presence of God and to find oneself, the Siebenquell® Chapel forms an essential part of our health concept.

The chapel as meeting point

As an integral part of Siebenquell® GesundZeitResort, everyone is welcome in our chapel, whether you believe in Christ or belong to another religion, because the love of Christ belongs to all people. For this very reason, we would like to cordially invite you to the Siebenquell® Chapel to spend time with yourself and with God. Whether you want to visit the chapel alone or would like to join one of the services with our pastor from Weißenstadt is completely up to you. We look forward to welcoming you at Siebenquell®, whatever the occasion.

The origins of the name “Siebenquell Chapel”

siebenquell-trenner

If you visit the Siebenquell® chapel you will see that there are panels with beatitudes on all of the walls. For this reason, our chapel was almost given the name “Chapel of the Beatitudes”. But the name “Siebenquell” holds a lot more significance. The biblical reference becomes clear when you take a closer look at the murals in the entrance area of the GesundZeitReise experience. They show the area of Tabgha on the Sea of Galilee in Israel. This name literally means “the place of seven springs”, as there are seven springs of different salinity there. The surrounding area is therefore also known as the seven springs region. Not only did it give its name to our resort, but according to tradition, this is also the place in Israel where the miraculous feeding of the five thousand took place.

As a reminder of this, there is a mosaic in front of the altar of the Church of the Multiplication in Tabgha, which shows a bread basket with four loaves and two fish. If you look closely at the walls of the GesundZeitReise experience, you will find reproductions of this mosaic and other significant places in Jesus' story, such as the Church of the Primacy of St. Peter or the colonnade of the Church of the Multiplication. Last but not least, the GesundZeitReise experience also refers to the sermon in which Jesus taught people from the boat so that they could see him better from the shore. That's why the GesundZeitReise experience reception is shaped like a boat. In this way, both the chapel and the GesundZeitReise experience are visible representations of how turning to and listening to Jesus Christ can heal our lives.
